A boom lift puts a work platform where a scissor lift cannot reach: out over a canopy, up the face of a building, around a pipe rack or across a gap. That outreach is why boom lifts are the usual choice for façade, glazing, signage and steelwork access on Abu Dhabi and Dubai projects.
Maxtgc rents articulating and telescopic boom lifts with reach up to 20 metres and beyond, alongside compact spider lifts for sites a wheeled boom cannot enter. Every platform is inspected on a fixed schedule and checked again before dispatch, with its inspection documents supplied on delivery.
Lifts are available with an IPAF-trained operator, or on self-drive hire for crews holding valid IPAF certification. A unit that needs servicing mid-project is swapped out, not left standing.
What a boom lift is used for

- Structural steel connections and inspection
- Work over canopies, pipe racks and landscaping

Articulating or telescopic
An articulating boom has one or more knuckles in the arm, so it can rise, reach over an obstacle and then drop down or reach in. It is the better choice when something is in the way: a canopy, a balcony, a pipe rack or a row of trees.
A telescopic boom extends in a straight line. It gives more height and outreach for the same base size, and is quicker to position along long, open façades. If the path to the work is clear, telescopic is usually the more productive machine; if it is not, articulating gets you there.
Planning boom lift work
Check the ground first. A boom lift puts a lot of weight on a small area when the boom is extended, so soft sand, backfilled trenches and covered voids are a hazard. Outdoor work also has a wind limit set by the manufacturer, and the afternoon sea breeze on the coast can stop work at height on a clear day.
Everyone in a boom lift platform should wear a harness with a short lanyard clipped to the platform's anchor point, and the operator needs training for the machine type. If the work is directly overhead with nothing in the way, a scissor lift is often quicker and cheaper.
Getting it to site
Boom lifts travel on a flatbed or lowbed trailer. Same-day delivery is standard for platforms in Abu Dhabi; Dubai sites are typically served within 3 to 5 hours from Abu Dhabi, and spider lifts are scheduled 24 to 48 hours ahead.
We do not publish rate cards, because hire length, operator, delivery distance and site conditions change the price for the same machine. Send the job details and you get a firm AED quote. Our guide on what affects rental rates explains each factor.

Boom Lift Rental in Abu Dhabi: FAQs
How high can your boom lifts reach?
Our boom lifts reach working heights of up to 20 metres and beyond, and our spider lifts reach up to 28 metres. Tell us the height and outreach you need, and what is in the way, and we will confirm the right machine.
Do I need IPAF certification to operate a boom lift?
Operators need to be trained for the machine type, and IPAF certification is the widely used qualification for access platforms. If your crew is not certified, hire the lift with one of our IPAF-trained operators.
Can a boom lift be used indoors?
Yes, if the floor can take its weight and the access is wide enough. For atriums and interiors with tight doorways, a spider lift is often the better choice because it folds down to pass through a standard door.
Do you deliver boom lifts to Dubai?
Yes. Standard platforms are typically delivered to Dubai within 3 to 5 hours from Abu Dhabi, and spider lifts are scheduled 24 to 48 hours ahead.
