A scissor lift raises a wide, stable platform straight up, with room for people, tools and materials. For ceiling work, MEP installation, racking and anything directly above where the machine stands, it is quicker and easier to work from than a ladder, a tower or a boom lift.

Electric or rough-terrain
Electric scissor lifts run on batteries, produce no exhaust and are quiet, which makes them the standard choice indoors. They have non-marking tyres and are built for flat, firm floors, so they are not suited to sand, gravel or uneven slabs.
Rough-terrain scissor lifts have four-wheel drive, more ground clearance and a wider platform, and are built for outdoor sites and unfinished ground. They are heavier and wider, so check access and floor loading before booking one for a slab or podium.
Check the floor and the access
Before booking, measure the narrowest door or opening the lift must pass through, and check the floor can carry the machine, especially on suspended slabs, mezzanines and podiums. Ceiling heights and obstructions along the route matter too.
If the work is not directly above where the machine can stand, for example over a void or behind an obstacle, a boom lift or spider lift is the better choice.
Getting it to site
Scissor lifts travel on a flatbed or small trailer and are delivered the same day for standard platforms in Abu Dhabi. Dubai sites are typically served within 3 to 5 hours from Abu Dhabi.

What height scissor lift do I need?
Take the height you need to work at and subtract about 2 metres, since a person standing on the platform can reach roughly that far above it. For a 10 metre ceiling, an 8 metre platform height is usually enough. Tell us the work height and we will confirm.
Can a scissor lift be used outdoors?
Rough-terrain scissor lifts are built for outdoor and unfinished ground. Electric scissor lifts are designed for flat indoor floors; some models are rated for outdoor use on firm, level ground within a wind limit, and some are indoor only. Tell us if the work is outdoors when you book.
Will a scissor lift fit through a door?
Narrow electric scissor lifts are typically about 0.8 metres wide, which passes through a standard doorway. Send the width of the narrowest opening with your booking so the machine can be checked against it.
